Mill Bridge Village & Camp Resort in Ronks, PA is looking for new Groundskeeper team members to join our helpful & friendly camp team!


We are located at 101 South Ronks Road Ronks, PA 17572. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, reliable, hard-working, and capable of teaching themselves on a computer (autodidactic learner).


This can be either a Workamping or a Local Position.


A Workamper is an employee who lives on the property in their RV. A Local hire would need to commute to the Campground with their own car, or another form of their own self-organized transportation.


For Workampers

RVs which are not in good exterior condition, or are overly old (~>12 years in age, but exceptions can be made) will not be accepted. If you're a Workamper & you submit your Application via Homebase, you will also need to send a separate email to jobs@millbridge.com including your First & Last Name & 3 exterior pictures of your RV + Tow Vehicle (if applicable, Motorhomes do not need a Tow Vehicle) attached to it.


Groundskeeper Responsibilities

  • Maintain property cleanliness and appearance

  • Greet customers and make them feel welcome

  • Work with the customer to identify problems and present solutions

  • Respond to complaints in a friendly and professional manner

  • Answer any questions the customer may have and provide suggestions as needed

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area

  • Ensure campsite quality standards are met

  • Coordinate & facilitate minor maintenance repairs

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees

  • Handle heavy equipment and machinery to do landscaping-related tasks


Groundskeeper Qualifications

  • Past experience working in maintenance

  • Friendly attitude even when dealing with disgruntled colleagues and clientele

  • Highly adaptable to various situations and customer needs

  • Ability to problem solve quickly and find effective solutions to issues that arise

  • Capable of learning new skills quickly

  • Ability to collaborate & work well with others in a fast-paced environment

  • Very strong computer skills (Computer knowledge is a necessity, if you cannot operate a mouse & keyboard efficiently, you will not be a good match for this Position)

  • Very strong fine motor skills (need to be able to type on a keyboard accurately & click a mouse without any impediment)

  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Able to use hand and mechanical tools to ensure safety and completion of tasks

  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively

  • Knowledge of landscaping practices and procedures

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under little supervision


Groundskeeper Special Notes

This position involves the general upkeep of the campsites, cleaning of restrooms/cabins when the main cleaning crew is unable to perform their regular duties, & lifting/moving heavy objects. There is also grass trimming & general groundsman tasks. Ideally, you are an experienced outdoor worker. You need to be able to operate a sit-mower, weed-wacker, & other power tools. You also need to be able to read electric meters & record them into a computer. So if you don't know how to use a computer, this Position would not be for you. You need to know how to drive an RV. You need to be able to assist Guests pulling into the business who need extra help parking their RV. Backing into their campsite, etc...


Compensation:

  • Local Hire- $13 to $16 /an hour.

  • Workamper (Couple)- $12 to $15 /an hour.

  • Workamper (Single)- $11 to $14 /an hour.


THIS IS A PART-TIME JOB. All our Positions are Part-Time (20 Hours or less maximum per week) If you are seeking a Full-Time Job experience (21+ Hours), & plan to work 2 Part-Time Jobs at both Campgrounds, thus equally a Full-Time Job. The Hours for this Position max out at 20-Hours per week. We permit doing as little or as many Hours to that maximum that you'd like, to best fit your schedule. We are flexible to work with.


Example of What A Workday Would Look Like

  • Open up our Pool, Rec Hall, & Camp Store

  • Pick-Up Garbage around the property

  • Empty Garbage Cans in the Camp Store & around the property

  • Vacuum carpets in the Camp Store & on the front porch

  • Quick clean the restrooms

  • Restock the firewood supply (lifting heavy objects)

  • Remove cobwebs & dust around the buildings on the property

  • Cut Grass on a ride-mower, painting, lots of landscaping, weed-whacking

  • Clean Fire Rings

  • Complete Miscellaneous Tasks from our Maintenance Book (broken locks, replace fire alarm batteries, etc...)

  • Help a Guest back their RV into their campsite

  • Read electric meters & record them into a computer software

  • Close up our Pool, Rec Hall, & Camp Store

  1. Read & Study the Official Advertisement, Official Job Description, & Official Complete Training Manual for the position you wish to apply for, (and if necessary) the Workamper Free RV Site Monthly Stay Agreement if you will be planning to be a Workamper.

  5. Schedule your In-Person Interview with our Hiring Manager.

  6. Attend your In-Person Interview with our Hiring Manager.

  7. Schedule your In-Person Shadow Day with our Hiring Manager. For Workampers, we will provide you with Free Nightly Accommodation for the Date(s) you need to first visit the Campground, to see if the employment will be a good fit for both parties. This Reservation for you is called your 'Shadow Reservation'. You will have 1-7 days of Free Accommodation on an RV Site at our Park while you participate in daily work around the Campground. Once your Check-Out Date has come, it will be decided whether you will be Hired or Denied.

  8. Attend your In-Person Shadow Day. (Or Shadow Reservation for Workampers)

  9. Once Hired, you will be emailed directions & prompted via Homebase to Sign to following documents:

    • Official Job Description

    • Official Complete Training Manual

    • (If applicable) Workamping Free RV Site Monthly Stay Agreement

  10. You will additionally be able to submit at this time, on your behalf, your documents for the following:

    • W-4 Federal Tax Form

    • I-9 Employment Eligibility Form

    • Payment Method Form (Direct Deposit)

  11. Workampers Only: You will now receive an Email Confirmation for your RV Site Monthly Stay Reservation. Including the details of your Check-In Date, Check-Out Date, Assigned Site Location, etc...

  12. View Open Shifts (or be manually assigned yours) & plan to Clock-In & begin your work at Mill Bridge Village & Camp Resort!
