Terms To Know

'Flood Watch' = means that the possibility of a flooding event is favorable to occur (MEDIUM RISK)

'Flood Warning' = means that a flood is imminent or is already happening (HIGH RISK)

'Flash Flood' vs. A Regular 'Flood' = A Flash Flood is a fast-moving flooding event defined by its quick onset. A regular Flood takes more time to develop & is still dangerous but not as fast-moving. (DANGEROUS RISK)

What Do I Do? Where Do I Go?

If a Flood Watch or Flood Warning has been issued, follow these orders:

  • Walk over & keep an eye on the Campground's Flood Level Measuring Indicator found underneath the back bridge of the park in between Site Locations #012 & #013.

  • In times of intense rainfall, the stream can raise 1ft every 30 minutes.

  • If the water rises above the 7ft mark, we will issue the order to begin Stage 1 Evacuation of the Campground.

  • If the water rises above the 9ft mark, we will issue the order to begin Stage 2 Evacuation of the Campground.

Stage 1 Evacuation

ONLY Stream-Side Site Locations (ALL Stream-Side Sites) will need to do one of three things:

  1. Get in contact with the Front Desk to 'edit' their reservation to a Site Location located in the inner area of the park (temporarily) until the flood subsides.

    • If there's no availability to do this, you will need to pick one of the other two options instead.

    • Billing is subject to change.

  2. Evacuate to the Walmart Parking Lot on Lincoln Highway & wait out the flood temporarily there until your Site Location is cleared for re-admittance.

    • Refunds are issued 'per each night' your reservation was affected by the flood.

  3. Check-Out your reservation from the park & leave entirely.

    • Refunds are issued 'per each night' your reservation was affected by the flood.

Stage 2 Evacuation

EVERY Site Location in the Campground (The Whole Entire Campground) will need to do one of two things:

  1. Evacuate to the Walmart Parking Lot on Lincoln Highway & wait out the flood temporarily there until your Site Location is cleared for re-admittance.

    • Refunds are issued 'per each night' your reservation was affected by the flood.

  2. Check-Out your reservation from the park & leave entirely.

    • Refunds are issued 'per each night' your reservation was affected by the flood.
