The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania educates the public regarding the Commonwealth’s rich railroad history, discovering the relevance of railroads in building the nation and the role of today’s railroads in our lives. See more than 100 locomotives and railroad cars, and our giant model train display.
With 22 operating trains and 150+ hand-built miniature figures, vehicles and scenes, the gigantic train display at the Choo Choo Barn will amaze all ages. See a fire engine race to the rescue to put out the fire at a burning house – with real water! You’ll recognize local landmarks like Dutch Wonderland and the Strasburg Railroad – in detailed miniature! Much more than “just trains”, this ever-changing layout is a work of art.
The Fireside Tavern offers a cozy, comfortable bar and dining area that features a 16 seat bar, high-top tables and plenty of room for casual diners. The walls are decorated with hand painted wooden signs and prints. Exposed brick and fireplaces add warmth and character. Customers can enjoy their food and drink on the deck overlooking beautiful Lancaster County farmland.
The Village Greens combines the challenge of golf with the natural beauty of lush gardens to create a unique recreation experience for all generations to enjoy together! Two courses cover over 13 acres of beautiful countryside. Strasburg Rail Road™ is America’s oldest operating railroad with a charter dating back to June 9, 1832. First used for passenger and freight transportation, the short line limped along for more than a century until in 1958, on the verge of abandonment, the railroad was salvaged and given new life as a tourist railroad.
